Like the Tennessee River, music flows through The Shoals. You'll enjoy that "Muscle Shoals Sound" and our thriving music industry. The Blues, Jazz, Blue Grass, and all other forms of music provides a daily celebration. Our outdoor festivals are some of the best.

Our medical facilities are state of the art.

From pre-school through graduate school, private and public, The Shoals offers complete academic and vocational education. Shoals area students score among the highest in the state and in the Southeast.

Our business climate is positive and growing. A mix of manufacturing, service industries, retail, medical and financial institutions give The Shoals stability and strength.

The two counties that comprise The Shoals, Lauderdale and Colbert, contain a population of about 136,000. Because of its location, The Shoals is within easy driving distance of Huntsville and Birmingham, Alabama, Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia.

As an active member of this fine community, I can tell you that the residents here enjoy a quality of life and a variety of activities and opportunities usually found in larger metropolitan areas. We have an enviable sense of safety and comfort. This is how life is supposed to be.
